Credit by Examination

Armstrong Atlantic State University grants credit toward a college degree for the examinations and scores listed below:

Examinations for High School Students



Advanced Placement

A score of three or higher on tests administered in conjunction with the advanced
Placement (AP) Program of the College Entrance Examination Board. However, some subjects require a score of 4 or higher.


International Baccalaureate Examinations (higher level courses only) (www.ibo.org)
Important Information about: International Baccalaureate Diplomas and Certificates

Depending on the subject, either a score of 4 or 5 or higher on higher level IB exam. IB credit is evaluated on case-by-case basis.


Examinations for College Students


College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) General Examinations

A score of 50 or higher on certain tests given by the college Level Examination Program(CLEP)

DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST)

* Consult head of Languages, Literature, and Philosophy Department if score is higher than 3.
** AP & Georgia Government Examination needed to satisfy state requirement for US/GA gov't.
***A "clearly passing" essay, as well as a passing score on the objective test, is required.
# Current national average
c Grade of C or better in language course 2001 is required for award of credit by CLEP.
