The Federal College Work-Study program (CWSP) provides jobs for students who demonstrate financial need in accordance with federal guidelines. The program provides financial assistance to students while broadening their educational experiences. It also allows students to earn money to help pay for their educational expenses.

The amount of a CWSP award depends on the student's financial need and the funding level received by the University. All interested students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and must have submitted any other required documents before eligibility can be determined.

The Office of Financial Aid will notify Eligible CWSP Students via AASU student email of their eligibility to apply for a college work-study position. Keep in mind that you must be in Good Academic and Financial Aid standing, your financial aid file must be completed and your aid must be awarded before eligibility can be determined. Students can also view their eligibility through their S.H.I.P account under the Financial Aid Menu.

Students who apply for Work-Study program are not guaranteed a position. The final decision regarding the hiring of a student rests with the prospective supervisor or employer and the Office of Financial Aid. Students may be employed through the College Work-Study Program only by approval of the Financial Aid Office, and only if the student continues to have financial need as defined by federal regulation.
